J.E. “Red” Wood
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of our own.  J.E. “Red” Wood passed away peacefully on November 6, 2015 in Comanche, TX.  “Mr. Red”, as he was affectionately known, was one of the icons of TGR.  Everyone who came to our banquets would always ask “Is Mr. Red here”?  Mr. Red was a very kind and generous man.  At one of our TGR banquets, we had just finished giving away an ATV, rifles and hunts to the kids in the Big Buck Contest.  There were still kids left who had not won anything.  Mr. Red stood up and gave each of those kids one of his custom knives.  There must have been 20 or so kids that benefited from his kindness and generosity that day.  That was the kind of man he was.
On July 12, 2008 Mr. Red was inducted into the Trophy Game Records of the World Hall of Fame for his many years of support shown to the TGR.
Mr. Red and his wife Mary were very special to all of us associated with TGR.  We ask that you keep Mary and his family in your prayers.
Visitation will be this evening at the Comanche Funeral Home from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm.  Burial will be on Tuesdayat the White Point Cemetery in Comanche Co.
