Tommy Oates appointed to the Texas Animal Health Commission
The Exotic Wildlife Association would like to congratulate EWA Director, Tommy Oates, for his appointment, by Governor Rick Perry, as one of the newest Commissioners of the Texas Animal Health Commission. Tommy, who is one of the owners of the Huntsville Livestock Auction Company, currently serves as Chairman of the EWA’s Board of Directors. He brings over 40 years experience, not only in the cattle business, but in the alternative livestock business as well, to the Commission. He will replace EWA Director, Richard (Dickie) Winters, as the Exotic Industry’s representative on the commission after Commissioner Winters stepped down at the end of his six year.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Commissioner Winters for his service to the industry and to the people of the state of Texas. He will continue to serve the industry, in his current capacity, on the EWA Board of Directors and has indicated he will pursue other personal business opportunities. Again our sincere thanks to both of these men for their service.
